It is reported that “Chelsea” intends to transfer “Manchester City” defender Abdukodir Khusanov.

There have been some claims by unreliable sources that the Uzbekistan international could be a target for the Blues during the January transfer window.

Supporters in X responded by denying the news and declaring that Khusanov is not on the market:

Khusanov was fired

The 22-year-old has been in charge of Enzo Maresca’s first three league matches, with the Cityzens conceding just two goals in those matches.

However, Khusanov was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win over Manchester United and the 5-3 win over Sunderland.

It may not be a coincidence that speculations about his future have arisen after being reserved by Maresca. However, it is too early to say that he has fallen out of favor with the Italians.

In any case, the 3 goals conceded to “Sunderland” could make Maresca to return Khusanov to the starting XI after the international break.

Khusanov needs to find his role in Manchester City

The Uzbek’s speed means he can play as a full-back, but you get the feeling his best performances for the club came in the second half of last season when Pep Guardiola kept him alongside Mark Quahy in the middle of defence.

Maresca has so far favored Ruben Diaz alongside Guehi, but after his display against the Black Cats, he may rethink his selection options ahead of next month’s massive game against Liverpool at Anfield.

Khusanov will be determined to prove his worth to Mareska and we’ll see if he can bounce back after the international break.
