The Cleveland Browns brought in quite the 2025 draft class, and early indications are that GM Andrew Berry worked his magic with the 26th class this past offseason as well. Carson Schwesinger and Mason Graham are already pillars of this defense, Quinshon Judkins has taken over the backfield and Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel still have plenty of promise at quarterback.
As good as all of these young talents are, late sophomore tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has been a uniquely special addition to this offense. He immediately became the focal point of the passing game last year and continued to be a significant weapon in Year 2, even going so far as to lead the league in one key stat.
Hall of Fame Ambassador Steve Flack shared that according to NextGenStats, Fannin leads the league in sacks.
“Entering NFL Week 6, Fannin Jr. posted the HIGHEST ‘Average Breakout’ of any NFL receiver at 5.3 yards (Thursday @NextGenStats),” Flack said.

He has just 157 yards so far this season, but has three touchdowns as he shows red-zone chemistry with Deshaun Watson. KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston have certainly played a role in Fanny’s drop in targets thus far, but if this offense is going to get better, Watson will need to feed his young boring part a little more, while getting the rookies going is important.
If he’s consistently getting this kind of separation, it’s up to Watson to feed him more. To be able to lead this stat category among all receivers in the league is incredibly impressive and shows that his numbers thus far are not fully representative of how well he’s been playing.
Cleveland has a big battle with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday to keep control of the AFC North. We’ll see if those stats cross Watson’s desk and he decides to feed the young tight end some more.
