Liverpool are said to be leading the race for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, having also been linked with Chelsea.

The talented young England international has been a standout performer in this impressive Cherries side and it’s no surprise to see plenty of speculation surrounding his future.

A recent report from the Daily Mirror claimed Chelsea were confident of winning the race for Scott’s signature, but now the Daily Mail claim Liverpool are in the ‘driving seat’.

We have more on Scott in an exclusive report that examines how all of this affects Eli Junior Croupy’s future.

Liverpool or Chelsea for Alex Scott?

Scott looks like he has the qualities to shine for a bigger club, but it will be interesting to see which Liverpool or Chelsea can win this big transfer battle.

There are several factors to consider, but perhaps the biggest one is price, with sources including the Mail saying the 23-year-old would cost £100m.

This is certainly in Chelsea’s favor, as they cashed in big for Enzo Fernandes at the end of the summer without any time to find a replacement.

So the Blues still have money waiting to be spent on a top-class replacement, and Scott fits the bill perfectly.

Still, Liverpool have Champions League football and Scott’s reunion with his old manager Andoni Iraola to test the player.

The Reds could bring more quality into the middle of the park, with Scott Iraola looking ideal to upgrade Alexis Mac Allister, who no longer looks at the peak of his powers.
