11 players to miss Tottenham vs Coventry after Dejan Kulusevski’s injury update

Tottenham Hotspur host Coventry City in the Premier League and are without several players in their first game after a four-night training camp in hot weather.

Tottenham Hotspur face Coventry City without seven players as the return of Dejan Kulusevski is offset by injuries to Lucas Bergvall and Savio.

Bergvall is out for two weeks after picking up a knee problem during the 1-1 draw with Manchester United. Savio will also be out for “a couple of weeks” with a muscle problem ruling the winger out of the four-night warm-weather training camp in Marbella.

Kulusevski will return to the Spurs squad on Monday evening after recovering from a serious knee injury. “The medical staff gave the OK,” says Roberto De Zerbi.

The football player also wrote on the social network, “We will meet tomorrow. I told you that I will return. Now is the time.”

Pedro Porro is now the next closest player to return, but is not yet ready. De Zerbi admitted his vice-captain could return against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Bergvall could return when Spurs host Crystal Palace next weekend. Mykhailo Mudryk continues to recover from an ankle injury and now hopes to return before the start of the international break in November after Leeds United host De Zerbi’s side at Elland Road.

It seems unlikely that Savio will return before then. Wilson Odobert, however, could return next month.

In November, it will be 9 months since he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Xavi Simons picked up the same injury two and a half months later and should be back at the end of January but is trying to return before then.

Despite their recent setbacks, the Spurs no longer have one of the longest injury lists in the league. However, Coventry have the better of them on that front, with just four players out for Monday night’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden returned to practice after not making the game day squad this season. Taiwo Awoniyi is also fit again after serving a three-match ban for his sending-off against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Aurele Amenda and Haji Wright are their two long-term absences, with both players unlikely to play again until December. The former hurt his calf last month, while last season’s top scorer has suffered four injuries this summer.

Josh Eccles and Luke Woolfenden are also out. Both have barely featured for the Sky Blues due to ankle and knee injuries respectively.
