West Ham target Zoma opens door to transfer: “I’m not closing the door to anyone”

Mohamed Ali Zoma has made significant progress since joining 1. FC Nürnberg from Serie C side UC AlbinoLeffe in the summer of 2025.

After an impressive debut season in Germany, scoring 14 goals and providing 5 assists in 29 appearances in the 2.Bundesliga, the striker attracted interest from a number of clubs last summer.

However, Nürnberg opted to keep him after rejecting a €20m bid from West Ham United.

Zoma has picked up where he left off this season, scoring six goals in six league games and his impressive performances were recently rewarded with a first Italy call-up and international debut.

Zoma was questioned by the Italian media about his future and refused to rule out a move, with Kicker suggesting the 22-year-old could attract bids of €30m or more during the winter transfer window.

“I’m not closing the door to anyone,” Zoma told Sky (via Football Italia ), adding: “I’m ready and focused, let’s see what the future holds for me.”

Zoma also revealed that 1. FC Nürnberg head coach Miroslav Klose, the former Germany striker, was instrumental in persuading him to join the club.

“I spoke to him before I came here and that influenced my choice. He helped me a lot both on and off the pitch because he speaks Italian. I improved thanks to him,” he said.
