Wayne Rooney has spoken about his body transformation and shut down fat injection claims in before and after photos that have appeared on social media.
As the new documentary is launched, he and Coleen have appeared on This Morning and many other programs to promote it.
They discussed a range of topics, but one issue that came up this week was his weight loss, with Wayne reflecting on what he does and what motivates him to live a healthier lifestyle.

Ben Shepard says: When you make a documentary that spans an entire year, it’s interesting that you look back on how much the boys have grown, how much they’ve changed, and how much you’ve changed too, Wayne, and you look incredible. You look in really good shape. how are you feeling?
Wayne replied: No, I feel fine. I actually haven’t had a drink in a while. It’s just that I’m just trying to feel a little bit healthier and get healthier, some obvious eating habits that are much better, and training. So, everyone says I’m writing this pen, but I’m not, I want to write it out. Actually I’m not, I’m trying hard…
Book: See, health has always been an important part of your life, too. You can see how important this is to boys too, and now you can get involved in it too, which I think will be really cute.
Wayne: Yes. No, I think yeah, there are things that I’ve missed out on my whole life because I’ve been playing football and I’ve been there for some birthdays or Christmases and you miss those moments when I stopped playing and I said before I got into trouble, you know maybe drank too much or didn’t go to regular training and then I just thought, you know what, I want to enjoy my time with my kids when they’re their age, and Colleen. In fact, I was more present, more with them.
Book: “How much of a difference does this make?”
Colleen: I think that’s a huge difference because I’ve been planning everything with Wayne my whole life. If he’s there, that’s an added bonus. And now, as a family unit, we can plan together. So, you know, whether it’s a school run, or a family vacation, we know, you know, what we’re doing, and it’s nice to share the load with other people. And, you know, there’s a lot of parents who would do that anyway, but because of Wayne’s job position, that’s never the case. “
cat: I mean, you’re a real planner. I see you laid out like a school uniform. It’s almost military Colleen.
Colleen: Yes, I am. It really cleared his head.
Wayne: Do you know why? Because it’s hard because I can’t do it and I work day in and day out, so if I have to take the kids’ stuff out, I’ll just go in the morning or whatever. And then Colleen would get mad because I couldn’t do it, so that’s where I had to take a step back.
cat: And why you work so well together.
Book: She sets incredibly high standards. That’s it. I mean, like most men, we’re struggling to keep up with our high-achieving wives, which is pretty obvious, but it’s great that you’re more involved and that you can now be a part of it too. I mean, in the back of your mind, the football thing, did you ever think about getting back into football? Would you still do this?
Wayne:No. Well, it’s a big part of the show and I’m not stupid, I think I’ve had four jobs. I had just been fired from my first two jobs. Do I really want to go down this road again? Or there could be opportunities where I could be on TV as a commentator and podcaster and stuff like that, but then be more present while my kids, especially Kai, are having a big year with his GCSEs and trying to get a contract at Manchester United. So, I decided to go that route and I found more balance in football. I’d been doing this for about 25 years and never hit the balance that I enjoyed, loved, but just thought, you know what, let’s try to start a different route, and it helped me get back to a better place.
Book:Obviously we are all very excited about the new product [I’m A Celebrity] series you already have an idea of what it’s going to be like. You look fit, so you’re ready to hit the shower in your swimming trunks, Wayne, with your six-pack abs. Is this something you’re considering?
Wayne: No, I get asked all the time. Obviously, there have been rumors over the past few years and again this year. So, we’ll have to wait and see.
