The 15-year-old is regarded as one of the best talents in English football but is yet to make his competitive debut.
Gabriel refused to train with the Red Devils today, with reports suggesting he has asked to be written off as soon as possible.
The Englishman sees no future for himself with the Manchester giants and appears set to move abroad in the near future.
Gabriel has already represented England at youth level but is also eligible for an Irish passport through his father.
Therefore, he does not need to be over 18 years old to move abroad. He may move to La Liga with Real Madrid next time he gets the chance.
United have so far refused to deregister the youngster, but if nothing changes, that could happen sooner rather than later.
Barcelona are also tracking Gabriel, but Madrid are the favorite to sign him. His departure will be a huge loss for Manchester United.
