Genoa’s Vazquez scores another corner kick
This pattern remains unchanged after the market close. In the 52nd minute, Mitai made another excellent save, and further openings between Amorim and Colombo came to naught in front of the tenacious Sutirol defenders.
With penalties looming, newcomer John Vazquez rose from the corner and headed past Plizzari. It was the Mexican defender’s second goal in a row and his second from a set piece after Genoa’s equalizer against Frosinone in Serie A.
