16 points from 11 games is 1.45 per game and the split behind him is uneven: 13 from 18 at home, three from 15 away, with four wins each in Jos and three draws from five away games.

“Plato United” scored 18 goals and conceded 14 in 11 games. Thirteen came home, five left. On the trip, the team scored 5 goals and conceded 9. According to our compiled match events, Gideon Monday and J. Ibrahim lead the way with three goals each. Paul Samson Alo, Samuel Ayanrinde and Victor Dawa have two each. There is no confirmed goalscorer in our record of four goals.

A 4-0 win over Kano Pillars in Matchday 8 on 11 October was a season high, scoring four different goals and a clean sheet against a side who are still fourth in our table, in the top three with 18 points. A week later, as we reported, Sporting Lagos won 3-2 in Jos. Victor Dawa responded twice to Aliyu Baba’s opening goal in the tenth minute. The return since the Kano Pillars game is two points out of nine. The five-match form is written as loss, win, loss, draw, draw.

Four clubs in our table have 18 points: Rivers United, Enugu Rangers, Bendel Insurance and Kano Pillars. Enugu Rangers have two games to play. Plateau United lead the four-club group in 16 on goal difference alone.

Ogunbote and staff

Ogunbote was introduced as a technical advisor in January 2026. He then said “we will bring in some quality players but it won’t be a wholesale change because the team needs synergy” and the summer confirmed this, with defender Tarabina Biveribo leaving for Kano Pillars.

Plateau United players salary

No individual salary at the club is public.

On June 23, 2026, the National Sports Commission approved a minimum of ₦2 million monthly for NPFL players while pushing for a tougher club license. Chairman Shehu Dikko said the rules would apply even if “strict enforcement initially means fewer clubs qualify”. At the official exchange rate of ₦1,346 to one dollar as of October 30, 2026, that is about $1,486. No words, general or express, are given in the endorsement. The old figures are thin and second hand. In June 2022, All Progressives Congress Plateau State Chief, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, told Daily Trust that some players earn more than ₦700,000 a month, at the same rate of about $520, while coaches get ₦1 million or more. Pulse Sports reports that in April 2023, the players were awarded ₦100,000 each, about $74, after defeating Nasarawa United.

We did not find 2026 reports of unpaid wages. General manager Habila Hosea Mutla has denied that the players’ salaries were half paid in December 2024.

The New Jos Stadium and its 1975 roots

New Jos Stadium is home to Kwara United, Sporting Lagos and Warri Wolves this season. The old Rwang Pam Stadium holds 15,000 and is still listed as the club’s ground. No 2026 games have been played there that we know of. Our guide to NPFL clubs and stadiums covers other venues.

The club started in 1975 as JIB Strikers and is owned by the Plateau State Government. In 1999, he won the Nigeria Cup, defeating Iwuanyanwu Nationale 1-0 in the final. The NPFL title came in 2017 under Kennedy Boboye.

Our vision

The numbers show the trip record. 13 of the 18 points at home is a title-level return and three draws and two defeats on the road, combined with a two-point slide from the next nine from Kano Pillars, is where Ogunbote’s season has been so far. Only the club can say what the 2 million lira cost for the state club. Ogunbote’s more pressing task is a first away win.
