We look at the matches that will take place on Saturday in this final round of the Premier League.
We look at other games from Newcastle United’s point of view.
The games of the 9th round in the Premier League.
Eight matches will be played in the Premier League today.
Yes, you read that right, EIGHT Premier League matches on Saturday!
Plus, five of them at the old-fashioned 3 p.m.
The only non-Saturday fixtures this weekend are Liverpool v Arsenal on Sunday and Newcastle United v Everton on Monday.
As a Newcastle United fan, take a look at these Saturday’s Premier League fixtures and think about what you want to happen and what is most likely in terms of results.
Here are my predictions for Saturday’s games:
Chelsea – Man U (12.30)
Money spent by these two clubs with so little revenue.
One of the places where I think about who I want to lose more than who I want to win.
Man U are a complete mess and Chelsea very up and down. A win for Newcastle and Chelsea would see United above the Cockneys after this weekend, so I probably fancy Man U to win. I think it will be a draw as Man U will be desperate not to lose. The winless streak will make Man U’s run of nine games without a win in all competitions.
Rat Bruno Fernandes reinstated to Man U team…
Bournemouth – Leeds (15:00)
Bournemouth are up again and Leeds tend to play very negatively.
A win for Newcastle and a winless Leeds would see NUFC over them.
I think Bournemouth will win this comfortably.
Brentford – Forest (15:00)
Very similar scenario, a win for Newcastle, the Bees will go above Brentford if they don’t win here.
I’m going for this draw.
Coventry v Sunderland (15:00)
It’s the 19th game, it’s the 20th game.
If Coventry win to go four points clear of the Mackems, my money will be on that result.
Hull v Ipswich (3pm)
The pair have so far baffled the ‘experts’ with 10 points each and sit mid-table after eight matches.
It would feel great if both clubs have 13 points after nine EPL games, but after a draw today I think both will have 11 points.
Man City – Brighton (15:00)
The ball is being played at third and it’s a repeat of the midweek encounter between the two teams.
Brighton could and should have won it but lost on penalties.
The Seagulls are dangerous, especially when they go after your fish and chips, but I think Man City will step up and keep them top of the table.
Spurs – Palace (17:30)
“Tottenham” has improved to some extent, but it still does not seem convincing to me.
Although their manager has received plenty of stick, Palace have won four, drawn one and lost three of their last eight matches in all competitions. Pierre Sage guided them to a confidence boosting and cup win at Fulham in midweek. Players who are still showing they play for him and I think they can also disappoint Spurs, at least they leave with a draw.
Villa – Fulham (20:00)
Villa were thumped 3-0 by Bournemouth in midweek and likely sacrificed their cup run.
Fulham should have beaten Palace in midweek but failed to convert the chances. They have won both of their last two league matches 1-0 and could be a tough side. Everyone will think Villa have been beaten, but I think Fulham can surprise. I’m going for the win on the trip!
