Match Day – Away Days: LIVE* – Fan

Some travel days start with a ticket. These start with an alarm clock. Fleetwood supporters traveling to Exeter are around 285 miles each way, Plymouth’s trip to Cambridge is around 265 miles away and Newcastle fans who travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday are around 300 miles ahead. That’s quite a drive before anyone approaches the turnstile. We follow weekend journeys from the first coach departure to the final journey home: service station stops, distant finishes and the stories that make all those miles worthwhile.

On the other hand, there is a lot of driving to football. Our tables ahead of the weekend put Cambridge fourth and Plymouth fifth in League One, separated by a single point: a long journey that awaits a rewarding reward at the finish. At the other end of that division, Bromley and Peterborough also head into the weekend a point apart in 23rd and 21st place respectively. There are higher places in a meeting; the other gives a chance to gain a place near the bottom. The league standings are a saved preview image rather than a live table.

Not everyone needs to go on an expedition. Tottenham’s trip to Chelsea and Accrington Stanley’s trip to Rochdale are around 20 road miles by our estimates. Fewer miles doesn’t mean there’s less to say, though. Whether you’re crossing the country or taking a short hop, show us how your day of travel went: carriage, train, food stop, view from the stands or the return trip. Submit your photos, videos or a link to X’s post below. Registration is not required.
