Burnley sacked Hayen after Lincoln’s humiliation

“Burnley” dismissed head coach Nicky Hayen after the game they lost to “Lincoln City” 4:1.

The Clarets were relegated from the Premier League last season and have made a poor start since returning to the second division.

Burnley took the lead through Andreas Hountondji at Sincil Bank, but an equalizer from Ben House, followed by a double from Mikkel Ladefoged, whose goals came either side of a Dom Jefferies effort, secured the points for Lincoln.

It marked Burnley’s sixth defeat of the season and left them third in the Championship table with eight points from 12 games.

And Burnley confirmed in a brief post-match statement that Hayen, who only took over in July, had been sacked.

“Burnley” hosts “Portsmouth” next Saturday.
