Liverpool have been encouraged to consider a move for Sunderland forward Brian Brombie, with the Netherlands international attracting attention after making a huge impact in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has emerged as a potential target for several major English clubs, with Manchester United and Arsenal also believed to be monitoring his situation. Sunderland could demand around £50m if they decide to part ways with their centre-forward.
Brian Brombie could provide Liverpool with different attacking options
Brombie joined Sunderland from Ajax in 2025 and has since become an important part of their attack. He scored seven league goals in his first Premier League campaign and his physical attributes made him a difficult opponent for defenders.
His reputation was further enhanced after an impressive performance against Manchester City, scoring a hat-trick despite Sunderland ultimately losing 5-3.
Former Daily Mirror journalist Darren Lewis now says Liverpool could benefit from a striker with Brobie’s unique qualities. He highlighted the forward’s ability to use his strength, attack defenders and contribute to the build-up.

“I watched him play in the Netherlands against Sweden at the World Cup. It was a great example of a great centre-forward game,” Lewis said.
“He bullied the centre-backs and won the ball out wide.
“This way [manager] Ronald Koeman played him brilliantly as he was just a one-man wrecking ball.
“I think he is an option for Liverpool… with his strength, vision and ability to read the game.
“To take advantage of that, grab one centre-back, then the other centre-back. Then intimidate them, scare them to death.”
“Manchester United could really use someone with that quality. I think Arsenal can [too]absolutely. “
Liverpool already have significant attacking options, meaning Brombie’s move will depend heavily on how head coach Andoni Illara plans to shape his forward line. Alexander Isak remains an important part of the team, and the Reds have invested heavily in their offense.
Manchester United and Arsenal urged to sign Brobbie
Manchester United and Arsenal may also have reason to explore signing Brobbie.
Manchester United continue to evaluate their forward options, while Arsenal may need another centre-forward depending on their future squad decisions.
Sunderland are not under immediate pressure to sell, especially after Brobbie’s recent performances. Reports suggest the Black Cats could seek a fee of £50m before considering his departure.
So much will depend on whether Brobbie can maintain his current form. If he continues to cause problems for Premier League defences, interest from some of England’s biggest clubs is likely to remain strong.
