TNT Sports and Sky Sports have confirmed the latest Premier League TV shows for December and January, but some fans aren’t happy.
However, the deadline has arrived to produce a batch of TV drafts so that clubs can notify fans, process tickets and arrange travel.

The Premier League has today announced broadcast options for matches over the festive period, including Boxing Day and New Year’s Day weekend.
The league and our broadcast partners have previously agreed to a screening process for the early selection of rounds 17 to 20 of the UK’s live fixtures, which will take place between December 26 and January 7.
The fixture announcement follows consultation with representatives from the Football Supporters Association and the club’s Fans Advisory Committee, giving fans more than three months’ advance notice to allow them to plan and arrange travel during a particularly busy period of the year.
There are seven Premier League games on holiday this season.
Over the Christmas and New Year period, clubs have a minimum of 60 hours’ break between games. This is in line with commitments made to clubs to tackle a congested festive calendar amid an ever-expanding European and international fixture list.
Broadcast selections for November games will be announced in the week beginning September 21, 2026, and broadcast selections for December games will be announced in the week beginning October 19, 2026.

Why are there blackouts to live and televised football in the UK on Saturday?
TV broadcasts of Saturday 3pm matches have been banned in the UK since before the Premier League was founded, with broadcasters only allowed to show morning and evening matches on national television.
Although the 3pm kick-off is when most weekend games are played at the same time, these games were never shown live on television due to the “football blackout”.
The UK is the only country to ban broadcasts of Saturday’s 3pm kick-off.
The 3pm blackout is said to be a tradition for Sky Sports’ Saturday football show – in which a panel of pundits report on the action during the match but no footage of the match is actually shown.
That’s why Match of the Day ratings remain popular, although they’ve become harder to come by thanks to online streaming, footage of goals appearing within seconds and highlights uploaded to Sky Sports YouTube after 5pm on Saturdays.
Major European leagues such as France, Spain, Germany and Italy have not implemented such blackouts, and there is enough evidence to prove that school closures will not affect attendance at lower league football matches.
If anything, you’re more likely to watch more Premier League games if you live in North America or Asia rather than your own country (the UK), even though England prides itself on being the home of football.
In February 2011, the Attorney General of the European Court of Justice, Kokot, launched an investigation into the “blackout periods” and concluded that these blackout periods would not affect attendances in lower leagues.
“Indeed, it is questionable whether a period of lockdown will encourage spectators to attend and participate in games,” she said in a statement.
“Both activities are of an entirely different quality than live television. The courts have not sufficiently shown that the period of suspension actually encouraged viewing and participation in the games.
“France, Germany, Italy and Spain, as well as Northern Ireland, that is to say within the sphere of influence of English football, have not adopted a blackout period.”
In 2016, Ofcom launched an inquiry into football TV rights and polled fans asking if they wanted to see changes.
