“Manchester City” head coach Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Antoine Semyon will be out of action for up to two months due to a knee injury.
The Ghanaian international faced Ipswich Town at the weekend and when asked for an update on his fitness, Maresca said:
“At first we were expecting a worse injury. We will feel better after the scan yesterday. It will be eight weeks, so when he comes back in December he will be like a new player.”
There were different reactions to the news in X. Some fans see Semenyo’s absence as a major setback, while others believe it will give others a chance to step up:

Semenyo could miss at least 14 games
The winger may not return before mid-December, meaning he could be ruled out for Premier League games against Aston Villa (a), Brighton (h), Nottingham Forest (a), Fulham (h), Arsenal (a), Leeds (h), Brentford (a), Chelsea (h) and Hull (h).
Semenyo is also expected to miss four Champions League matches against AEK Athens (h), RB Leipzig (a), Napoli (h) and Barcelona (a), as well as the Carabao Cup fourth round tie against Brighton later this month.
If the forward’s recovery goes to plan, he could potentially return against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Boxing Day.
Latest Man City injury news
Erling Haaland Along with Semenyo, he was also injured against Ipswich. The Norwegian has a foot problem, which means he goes into the clash with AEK alongside Nico O’Reilly, who still has a back problem.
However, Mateo Kovacic (knock) and Matheus Nunes (knock) are expected to be available for Tuesday night’s match at the Etihad.
