What is a good Halloween costume to hide the face? I need it.
After last week’s selections, I must hide. It was terrible. When you can’t hit over .500 with the right picks, you know it’s a bad week.
I went 6-8 straight up and 3-11 against the spread. I could turn a coin and do better. Maybe my cats will make my choices next week.
My season records are now 54-38-1 straight and 37-54-2 against the spread. This is a bastard.
Time to turn it over, I’m going to the dogs. Let them bark.

New England Patriots (+3) at Chicago Bears.
- Thursdays at 8:15pm on Amazon Prime
This is a big game for both teams on a short week for the away team. Both teams can score, which will be fun to watch. I think the Patriots have a better defense and that will be the difference. They go all the way to win a much needed game.
Select: Patriots 28, Bears 27
Pittsburgh Steelers at New Orleans Saints (+3.5)
- Paris Sunday at 9:30 p.m. on NFL Network (Stream: Fubo — try it for free)
Both of those two are away wins and now we have a long road to play this game. The Steelers have been the more consistent team this year, but the Saints looked good against the Giants last week. It’s going to be tough, but the Steelers embrace it.
Select: Steelers 27, Saints 26
San Francisco 49ers at Atlanta Falcons (+3.5)
- Sunday, 1 p.m. on Fox (Broadcast: Fubo — try it for free)
The 49ers are rolling as the best team in the league, especially on offense. But losing Mike Evans would hurt. The Falcons couldn’t stop the Bears last week, so what makes you think they’ll slow down Brock Purdy? It may not be. But the Falcons will continue. It’s close.
Select: 49ers 30, Falcons 28
Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans (+1.5)
The Browns are 4-2 after beating Baltimore last week, and the Titans beat the Colts last week. Neither team is doing much offensively, which means it will be a low-scoring game. I think the Browns have a better defense, which will be the difference. They win again with a late goal.
Select: Browns 17, Titans 16
Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings (+6.5).
The Vikings had a bye, while the Colts suffered a terrible home loss to the Titans. This led to the firing of general manager Chris Ballard. Maybe that gives the Colts a shot. Beating the Vikings defense means a lot to Jonathan Taylor. I think we see that as long as the Colts keep him close, but we miss the upset.
Select: Vikings 21, Colts 18
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets (+4.5).
The Dolphins hit the road in search of their first win, while the Jets lost to the Patriots last week. The Jets have the better team and their defense should be able to limit the Miami offense. But the Dolphins play very hard and will play well on defense. It’s close.
Select: Jets 19, Dolphins 17
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers (+3.5).
- Sunday, 1 p.m. on Fox (Broadcast: Fubo — try it for free)
The Bucs could bring back Baker Mayfield for that. That would be great. The Panthers are rolling on offense as Bryce Young is in the MVP conversation. It will stay that way, but the Bucs will stick around.
Select: Panthers 24, Bucs 23
Cincinnati Bengals (+3) at Baltimore Ravens.
The Bengals have a bye and the Ravens lose to the Browns. They could get Lamar Jackson back from an ankle injury here, which of course changes things. Even if he does come back, I think Joe Burrow will have a big day throwing him out. An improved Bengals defense will do the rest. He was upset.
Select: Bengals 24, Ravens 23
New York Giants (+10) at Houston Texans.
- Sunday, 1 p.m. on Fox (Broadcast: Fubo — try it for free)
Who starts at linebacker for the Giants? It should be JJ McCarthy, but we’ll see. Regardless of who starts, the Texans have issues on defense. The Giants will move the ball. But they won’t stop CJ Stroud. He catches fire and it gives the Texans the win.
Select: Texans 27, Giants 23
Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals (+4.5)
The Cardinals are coming off a big road sweep of the Rams when Denver beat Seattle last Thursday. Denver’s offense has been lifeless so far this season. But the defense is still sticky. I think defense will be huge, Bo Nix will eventually make some plays. It’s close.
Select: Broncos 24, Cardinals 21
Green Bay Packers (+3) at Detroit Lions.
- Sunday, 4:25 p.m. on Fox (Stream: Fubo — try it for free)
The Lions are coming off a much-needed bye, while the Packers are coming off back-to-back wins. They play better on both sides of the ball. Two defenses will be challenged here, but the Lions will attack better at home. The Lions win it by a narrow margin as both quarterbacks light it up.
Select: Lions 34, Packers 33
Los Angeles Rams at Las Vegas Raiders (+4.5)
- Sunday, 4:25 p.m. on Fox (Stream: Fubo — try it for free)
This is a must win for both teams as they are on a losing streak. The Rams have had a lot of injury problems that have really affected their team. They still have Matt Stafford. He can light up defenses, which he will here. But the Rams will give up a few big plays, they hang around.
Select: Rams 28, Raiders 27
Kansas City Chiefs at Seattle Seahawks (+2.5).
- Sunday at 8:20pm on NBC (Stream: Fubo — try it for free)
This is a revenge game for the Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker, the Super Bowl MVP for Seattle last February. Let’s not forget that the Chiefs are Patrick Mahomes. Seattle is good on defense, but their offense turns the ball over. It is important here. Chiefs take.
Select: Chiefs 23, Seahawks 17
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles (+4.5)
- Mondays at 8:15pm on ESPN, ABC (Stream: Fubo — try it for free)
The Eagles are all out with injuries, including quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is out for the year. The Cowboys have struggled offensively the last two weeks, which doesn’t look good. It’s a desperate time for these two. The Cowboys will win, but it’s close.
Select: Cowboys 21, Eagles 20
