This game was going to be a stressful one and with no chances created despite Swansea’s initial performance under Carvajal, it was clear that was just a result of a fresh start rather than his tactical acumen. Now they’re stuck in a formation that doesn’t do them any good, playing in a way that creates little and concedes a lot of goals. Optimism and positivity alone won’t be enough to save them, and it’s time for Carlos Carvajal to prove that he can indeed manage and build a viable team. Although you don’t have to win, you definitely can’t lose. A win puts them in a very good position going into the final day of play. A day that gave them every chance and kept West Brom alive. A defeat leaves them needing snooker to avoid relegation.
Most important players: Lukasz Fabianski. Given their lack of creativity, conceding goals will be extremely costly.

With Manchester City coming up on the final day, Saints really need to win this game before they avoid a crushing defeat to England’s newly crowned champions. They gave themselves a chance by suddenly showing desire and fighting after months of barely showing any. Now is the time for players to step up and prove that all the pundits say about them being too good to fail is true. They only have two games left and they have to make it count.
Most important players: Dusan Tadic. This is a must-win game, which means talented players need to demonstrate exactly what they’re capable of.
Define the battle: The pressure will be intense on both teams, so it’s unlikely to be a game of skill and talent. It will be a question of who makes the fewest mistakes.
