Marseille 1-2 Paris Saint-Germain
PSG finally registered their first league win of the season, but it came in dramatic and controversial fashion at the CEPAC Velodrome, with substitute Ferran Torres breaking the deadlock in the 66th minute and Marquinhos winning the match two minutes after Marseille’s equalizer.
Torres put the visitors ahead when he headed in a cross from Desire Douai, but Angel Gomez equalized with a low shot from Aminé Gouri’s pass.
Marquinhos restored PSG’s advantage almost immediately, reacting fastest after Nuno Mendes’ pass.
The afternoon was made even worse when Timothy Weah was sent off late on to travel to Marseille. Geoffrey de Lange provided a remarkable goal for the home side and held off PSG’s 31-shot barrage for as long as possible.
Juventus 2-0 Atalanta
Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus bounced back from a two-match winless run with a 2-0 win over Maurizio Sarri’s Atalanta at the Allianz Arena.
Francisco Conceicao broke the deadlock in the 28th minute when he intercepted a Zeki Celik cross and Brehmer added another after the break in the second half as the hosts had 11 of their 14 shots on goal.
AC Milan 3-0 Lecce
The centenary night at San Siro was a night to remember as Ruben Amorim’s Milan ended a four-match winless run.
In the 62nd minute, Pulisic opened the scoring and scored twice through sharp cooperation between Rabiot and Goncalo Ramos.
With 16 minutes remaining, Moreira cut inside to score the third goal and Lecce was protested for the attack. Maignan made a wonderful save at the last minute to keep the game clean.
Fiorentina 1-1 Napoli
Billy Gilmour’s corner volley gave Napoli the lead on the stroke of half-time, but Fiorentina equalized six minutes into the second half through Alex Jimenez, whose long-range effort went cruelly wide of the goalkeeper.
The Viola hit the woodwork twice in the first half, with Napoli’s Matias Oliveira hitting the post, in a game both managers will feel they missed.
Villarreal 2-3 Real Sociedad
A thrilling five-goal contest at the Estadio Ceramica ended in Real Sociedad’s favour, with the Basque side coming from behind to take three points to keep them at the top of the La Liga table.
