England vs Croatia ratings: Who was the best player on the pitch?

Jordan Pickford: It was a really good decision and he made a save when he ran and won the ball at the feet of Ivan Perisic. He didn’t get a try but was lucky not to miss with Mateo Kovacic’s incredible run. 6

Jarell Guansah: He was surprisingly selected at right-back over Trent Alexander-Arnold, but the Bayer Leverkusen defender is doing exactly what manager Thomas Tuchel wants. A strong runner, good defender and his ability on the ball is underrated – he showed it with a quality pass to Gordon. 8

Ezri Konsa: There wasn’t much defending for Konsa as England pegged back Croatia, but it was a calm and assured performance from the defender. 7

Marc Guehi: The centre-back had to take some risky positions as England pressed the man all over the pitch. 7

Lewis Hall: The Newcastle left-back looks to be a great addition to England’s back four. Hall offers pace going forward, stepping into midfield to receive the ball. 7

Elliot Anderson: Anderson has been outstanding this international break and delivered another mature performance. The Manchester City midfielder is a vital part of the midfield, setting Kane up for England’s fifth man. 8

Alex Scott: The Bournemouth midfielder was handed his first England start and put in a really confident performance. Scott was always looking to get into the ball and didn’t try to keep it safe when England dominated. 7

Jude Bellingham: The best player on the field. Bellingham set up Kane for the first goal with a fine pass, England’s second and assisted Sakha for England’s fourth. A truly world class player and his quality was too much for Croatia throughout the game. 9

Bukayo After: The winger scored twice and appears to be forming a good partnership with Guansah on England’s right flank. Saka could have scored a hat-trick but missed a big chance in the second half. 8

Anthony Gordon: He plays with great confidence and continues to show that he has reached another level in recent months. Assisted Bellingham and scored in his fourth straight England game. 9

Harry Kane: Just an elite finisher and his goal put England firmly in control. The skipper looked full of energy, pressed forward and showed passing range as he enjoyed Gordon and Bellingham providing him. He also scored England’s fifth goal. 9
