Flashscore reports today that Chelsea are “exploring the right-back market” as they consider the future of Malo Gusto.
There was interest in France in the summer, but the Blues have put off teams with a £67million asking price. There is now talk Chelsea could look to lower their demands and flog the former Lyon player. “Spurs”, “Atletico Madrid”, “Liverpool” and “Manchester City” are being talked about.
Gusto’s future is far from settled
We’re still not quite sure the departure is as definitive as some might think. If Gusto had been fit in the last few weeks, he would have played more and there probably wouldn’t be all this speculation about his future.
The fact is, managers from Enzo Maresca to Liam Rosenior and now Xabi Alonso love Guston more than the fans do, and likely see his versatility and physical gifts as a real asset.
Chelsea will certainly sell for the right price, but we don’t see that happening anytime soon. Do not rule out that Gusto will be the first choice at the end of the season, and the probability of a sale is even lower.
