Brighton chief executive Paul Barber insists the club are “not afraid” of losing players or coaches as they have succession plans in place.
The Seagulls are flying high under Fabian Hurzeler this season, third in the Premier League after five games.
They thrashed reigning champions Arsenal 3-0 before the international break, while also progressing to the last 16 of the EFL Cup with a thrilling comeback win over Manchester United.
Brighton are the top scorers in the Premier League this season, second only to Manchester City (19) in the 2022-23 season with 16 goals in their first five games.
The likes of Maxim De Cuyper, Charalampos Kostoulas and Malick Yalcouye impressed for the Seagulls, while Pascal Gross won the Premier League player of the month award for September.
“If we’re doing well, it’s because our players and coaches are good. And if that happens, they’ll be on someone else’s radar,” Barber told Sky Sports News.
“We’ve been through this loop many times before, but this is our model. We’re not afraid of it – we have succession plans on and off the pitch.”

Brighton could also lift some European silverware this season as they feature in the Conference League.
Three of the five competitions have been won by English teams, including each of the last two competitions (Chelsea – 2025, Crystal Palace – 2026).
“Our club and staff have been through a lot. We don’t have a divine right to win anything this year, but everyone is working hard for it,” added Barber.
“I would not like to put so much pressure on us, but we are aware of how well the English teams have performed not only in this competition, but also in the Europa League and the Champions League.
“Being a Premier League club has an expectation. You may have better resources and controversial players, but that doesn’t guarantee a result. You have to earn it.”
