Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo’s injury could finally pave the way for Brian Farinas to make his first competitive appearance for Hansi Flick’s first team, according to SPORT.
It should be noted that 20-year-old Farinas is waiting for an opportunity after being on the sidelines of the senior team, despite being promoted from La Masia.

Barcelona confirmed on October 21 that Olmo had suffered a left wing injury and would be out for nearly a month, saying he would miss Sunday’s El Clasico against Real Madrid.
His absence leaves Flick with another decision to make in the attacking midfield position.

Although he is registered with the first team wearing the number four shirt, he is yet to feature in a competitive match this season.

It should be noted that Barcelona previously came close to allowing Farinas to go to Girona in the summer, but Flick intervened and kept him at the club.
The midfielder has continued to work with the first team, with the German coach regularly offering instructions and tweaking details to help him improve.
Olmo’s injury opens the door for Farinas
Fermin López obviously remains the leading choice in an attacking midfield role, but Barcelona have several ways to cover for Olmo’s absence.
On that note, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong and Marc Bernal can operate in more advanced positions, while Lamine Yamal and Raphinha offer alternative tactical solutions.

Farinas is even lower, but the injury could set off a chain reaction that allows him to earn minutes.
His versatility in midfield could come in handy as Barcelona navigate a demanding schedule.
Farinas, as suggested by SPORT “will have a moment”. Flick “He doesn’t tremble when it comes to trusting La Masia”and the Copa del Rey will provide further opportunities as the season progresses.
For now, the next two months could be decisive. Farinas currently has no option to go on loan in January, Barcelona is working on extending his contract.
However, his immediate priority is to turn his patience into a competitive first-team opportunity.
