Sassuolo’s Vasily Adzic admits his last-gasp strike in a win over parent club Juventus was “unforgettable” a year on from his first goal for Juventus.

The game was tied at 2-2 as the game entered the final minute, with Juventus twice equalizing through goals from Eden Glover, while Sebastiano Esposito and Kieron Bowie put Nerowodi ahead.

Adzic was cleared by Darryl Bakola and kept his cool in a one-on-one with Douglas Luiz to fire the ball into the net for a 3-2 win.

He refused to celebrate out of respect for the club that still owned him, but it was an extraordinary coincidence.

“It’s so weird, I missed two chances to get close to the goal, but I couldn’t miss the third one because shooting is one of my strengths,” Adzic, 20, told Italy’s DAZN.

“It is an unforgettable feeling because last year on this day I scored my first goal for Juventus and this time it was against my Juventus. I am happy for the team and for the great performance of Sassuolo.”

That goal in September 2025 was also the eventual winner, beating Inter Milan 4-3 in the 91st Italian derby.Yingshi minute.

He has scored twice for Sassuolo since joining on loan (with an option to buy), in the Coppa Italia against Cesena and last week’s 2-2 draw with Bologna, so he has clearly settled in well.

“I came here a month ago and the coach has a lot of trust in me, which is the most important thing for a young player. When you join a team with a lot of young players, it does make you feel more involved and we want to keep growing day by day.”

Adzic believes that Juventus really need a player with his characteristics during the current injury crisis.

“I can’t answer that question, I’m sorry,” he said with a smile. “I’m joining a team that has a lot of young players looking to grow and it’s important for a player of my age to get consistent playing time.”

That could still happen, as the Bianconeri do retain a buy-back option for Adzic.
