Arsenal’s latest injury news ahead of their trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
Arsenal’s squad are looking for some light on the back of Tuesday night’s shock Carabao Cup defeat at League Two Fleetwood Town.
The Gunners need to dust themselves off quickly when they travel to Anfield on Sunday to face a rejuvenated Liverpool side under new boss Andoni Iraola.
While Arsenal have a number of players doubtful for the trip to Merseyside (Max Dowman is currently suspended), Mikel Arteta is believed to be keeping his cards close to his chest on the injury front.
He will be given a chance to give another update at the pre-match press conference at the Sobha Training Center on Friday. Latest injury news from N5 with potential return dates.

Christos Tzolis
The Greek is trying to face Liverpool again after straining his hamstring while on international duty with Greece.
as football.london It was reported last week that he has a chance to make some sort of return against Liverpool, which will be his first appearance this side of the international break.
Tzolis hasn’t been seen in practice yet, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t yet practiced with the group. The crux of his rehabilitation work took place at London Colney, so he stayed in and around the band.
Arsenal need him back, so it would be a huge boost if he could get the green light on Sunday. Anyway, he is very close to getting back to fitness.
Possible return date: Sunday Liverpool (A)
Riccardo Calafiori
football.london Riccardo Calafiori is understood to be a doubt for Sunday’s trip to Liverpool following the problem he sustained in the closing stages of last weekend’s win over Everton.
Calafiori was seen clutching his hip and stomach and is believed to have raised the issue during an accidental collision with the Everton player.
Club sources are tight-lipped on exactly what the issue is – medical staff are still assessing it this week – but he is racing against the clock to prove himself in time for the clash with the Reds.
Arsenal could probably get by with Slavia Prague if required, but it’s a poor shot.
Noni Madueke had to finish the game against Everton at left-back because Calafiori was unable to make certain moves.
Mikel Arteta has confirmed the defender is unavailable following the defeat to Fleetwood Town.
Possible return date: Sunday Liverpool (A)
Declan Rice
Again, Mikel Arteta pointed out that Declan Rice – like Riccardo Calafiori – was unavailable against Fleetwood after sustaining trouble against Everton.
Rice was seen clutching his right hamstring in the second half before going to bed, but he appeared in Arsenal training on Monday.
He is still expected to be good for the weekend.
Possible return date: Sunday Liverpool (A)
Mikel Merinos
Mikel Merino was expected to start for Arsenal at Fleetwood but in the end he didn’t even make the trip.
That’s because he has been suffering from illness and Arteta wants him rested ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster clash at Anfield.
And now there’s a chance Merino could start in place of Kai Havertz and Victor Gokeres, as both of them were underwhelming against Fleetwood. Either way, it looks like he’ll be ready to pitch on Sunday.
Possible return date: Sunday Liverpool (A)
You Maduek
Mikel Arteta revealed that Noni Madueke was unavailable against Codd’s Army due to an ankle problem during his post-Fleetwood interview.
His absence is thought to be purely precautionary as Arsenal need him to fire against Liverpool on Sunday.
There are no serious concerns about the England international’s absence – he completed 90 minutes against Everton.
Possible return date: Sunday Liverpool (A)
Bukayo Saka
Bukayo Saka won’t be available until early December at the earliest after the quad release.
There are some suggestions that it could be late December or early January before he is fully recovered and ready to start matches again.
This looks like a pretty bad injury that requires proper rest and rehab. For now, we have to give Arsenal the benefit of the doubt when discussing a timetable, as early reports suggest Saka will miss a minimum of six weeks.
Possible return date: Real Madrid (H) – December 9
William Saliba
Ezri Konsa was so good that people almost forgot about the great man.
Mikel Arteta, however, wants to bring back the Frenchman to strengthen his defensive ranks.
Saliba is likely to be held out until after the international break, though he is firmly on the way back.
He has been doing some individual training on grass this month as he ramps up his rehabilitation process and is closing in on a comeback after being torn apart by a back injury in the World Cup semi-finals.
Possible return date: Newcastle (A) – 21 November
