Tottenham are now in the race to sign the ‘sensational’ £33million striker, who is also wanted by Arsenal.

Of course, it was always going to be difficult for Tottenham Hotspur to replace 2026 Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane, who scored 73 goals for Bayern Munich and England during the evaluation period.

However, centre-forwards Spurs have signed since Kane joined Bayern in 2023 and their lack of a reliable goalscorer has been one of the main reasons they have finished 17th in the Premier League over the past two years.

In fact, two of the aforementioned strikers have already left the club, with Spurs opting not to sign Kolo Muani on a permanent deal, while Veliz has signed with Brazilian side Bahia.

Moreover, Tel has been used more as a left-back by Roberto De Zerbi this season, while Richarlison has been frozen out, with the Brazilian making just one appearance in all competitions since the start of the campaign.

With that in mind, De Zerbi may need to bring in at least one new centre-forward in the January or summer transfer window, and the Lilywhites have now entered the fray to land the Champions League star.

Tottenham have now entered the race to sign Club Brugge star Nicolo Tresoldi, but competition could be fierce from rival Premier League clubs, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United also emerging as potential suitors, according to TEAMtalk.

Furthermore, the deal could be relatively expensive, with Brugge set to hold a club-record fee of €40m (£33m) and given the level of his performances this season, they are not interested in selling the 22-year-old.

The German has looked particularly impressive in the Champions League and he was praised by journalist Michael Oti Adjei after his hat-trick against Inter Milan earlier this month.

The Cagliari-born shot-stopper has also been in good form domestically, scoring 12 goals in 14 appearances in all competitions, seven of which have come in the Belgian Pro League, putting him at the top of the goalscoring charts.

While De Zerbi will be hoping the 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge will be a turning point, the Italian has not had a consistent goalscorer this season, with Solanke netting just once in eight Premier League appearances.

If the Englishman continues to struggle, Tottenham should look to bring in a striker during the January transfer window and Tresoldi has proved he is ready to test himself in one of Europe’s top leagues.
