With 14 games on the schedule, most of the league is in action, which means plenty of options for today’s NBA Best Matches list. So what are the best?

I have a few ideas for you. Check out my top NBA picks below:

Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets

Neither team has much going for it. Charlotte loses its fourth straight against Detroit, 124-91. Brooklyn finally got off the winning streak last night against Indiana, but followed that game up with a loss to the Knicks.

I would suggest the UNDER if it wasn’t for these two teams that went 110-103 in the finals a few days ago. When two bad teams play, lackluster offenses are not good. Playing against a weak defensive team helps, but it goes both ways, does it really?

My pick: Charlotte -3.5 -110

With Kon Knueppel and Coby White expected to play, the Hornets will be good enough offensively to beat a bad Brooklyn team by at least five points. If Knueppel and White were out, I’d lean to the UNDER, but since they’re likely, take Charlotte and put the points.

Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs

Sa Antonio beat Dallas by 16 points not too long ago, before assuming the Spurs would cover an 11.5-point spread. However, the Mavericks were without Kyrie Irving or Cooper Flagg for that game. San Antonio was the A team on the field.

Dallas loses to the Sacramento Kings on Monday night in a game without Kyrie Irving. With him and Flagg, the Mavericks offense becomes more formidable. San Antonio has a good defense, but won’t shut down Flagg and Irving.

My pick: Dallas +11.5 -112

San Antonio will win this game because they are the better team. But the duo of Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg will give the Mavericks a fighting chance to stay in the top 10.

Indiana Pacers vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis lost their first game in an absolute barnstormer last night against the New Orleans Pelicans 134-135. After the 104-108 loss to the Hawks, the Pacers have dropped five in a row. With Tyrese Halliburton still weeks away, it’s unlikely we’ll see him step it up anytime soon in Indiana.

The Grizzlies have the NBA’s highest scoring offense (123 points per game). Indiana’s defense ranks 21st (115.6 points per game). Even if the Pacers play at full strength, they don’t have enough defense to slow down the NBA’s highest-scoring offense.

My pick: Memphis -6.5 at -110

I’m surprised the line is so small. Memphis would probably cover that spread against a healthy Pacers team. But against someone injured? The Grizzlies will absolutely cover.
