Stephen Curry rushes past Klay Thompson, but son Canon watches as the former Warriors star returns to face Golden State in a Heat uniform.

Klay Thompson’s return to the Bay Area was greeted warmly by two familiar faces. The Warriors shared a post showing Stephen Curry and son Cano greeting Thompson before Miami’s game against Golden State on Thursday night. Thompson returns to the Chase Center for the first time in a Heat uniform.

Thompson spent 13 seasons with the Warriors and won four NBA championships with Curry as one half of the “Splash Brothers.” Their partnership helped define a Golden State dynasty and made this meeting a little different than a typical stop on a Miami road trip.

Tom Brady’s former TV fan, Ines Gomez Mont, was arrested on charges of fraud of $160 million.

Thompson arrives in the Bay Area after a night to remember with the Los Angeles Clippers. He scored 30 points and hit a game-winning 3-pointer with one second left in overtime to give Miami a 117-116 win.

It was his first 30-point game since 2024, when he was still in Golden State.

He said seeing his former teammates will make the game special. “I just can’t wait to go back and see some familiar faces” Thompson said, adding that there is “Friends for Life” In the Bay Area.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr also welcomed the reunion, praising Thompson and Andrew Wicks for bringing Golden State to championship teams.

The Heat and Warriors kick off at 10:00 PM ET at the Chase Center, televised on NBA TV.

Thompson will reunite with his new team, this time with his old friends.
