Roma and Milan could try again to sign Ndrick on loan from Real Madrid in January after Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti complained that Ndrick “needs playing time to develop”.
Two Serie A sides have made contact this summer with a view to replicating the Merengues’ vision when they loaned Franco Mastantono to Fiorentina.
Jose Mourinho is convinced the 20-year-old will be given plenty of opportunities to shine, but so far that has not panned out.
So far this season, he has made just one four-minute cameo in a 3-2 win over Elche, having been on the bench in three of those games and injured in the other four.
This situation has frustrated former Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti, who is now the coach of the Brazilian national team.
Ancelotti pushes Ndrick into Serie A
“The problem with Brazilian kids is that they don’t improve because they don’t play often.” he said at a press conference.
“It happens with Ndrick, it happens with talents like Estevo, who go to big clubs in Europe at 18 or 19 years old and don’t find space. If they don’t play games, they can’t develop.”
“We have some very young and promising talent and Ndrick will be a big figure for Brazil in the future, but they need to play.”
Ndrick lost patience and was loaned to Olympique Lyonnais in January 2026, scoring 8 goals and assisting 8 in just 21 games.
Roma and Milan hope they can convince the player and Real Madrid to let him try again mid-season, but this time in Serie A.
