So far, Sunday’s highlight reel in the NFL has seen the Washington Commanders condemn the Seattle Seahawks to their first loss of the season with a shocking victory.
Elsewhere, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals with a late fumble, while the Cleveland Browns pulled off another late comeback to win back-to-back games.

Seattle Seahawks 31-33 Washington Commanders
Washington ended Seattle’s stunning winning streak with a dramatic 33-31 victory, handing the defending Super Bowl champions their first loss since November. Marcus Mariota, filling in for the injured Jayden Daniels, threw three touchdown passes, and Kain Medrano’s 50-yard interception return provided another key score as the Commanders capitalized on three Seahawks turnovers.
Seattle has won 12 straight games, including a Super Bowl title last season, but failed to complete another comeback in Washington. Despite the loss, Jaxson Smith-Ngiba still had a strong performance, hauling in 10 catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns while also catching a short pass on a skill play in the fourth quarter.
Pittsburgh Steelers 30–27 Cincinnati Bengals
Aaron Rodgers won the quarterback battle with Joe Burrow and Pittsburgh defeated Cincinnati in a high-scoring AFC North game. Rodgers passed for 292 yards and three touchdowns, including a 47-yard catch-and-run by tall tight end Darnell Washington that set up Chris Boswell’s 33-yard field goal with 2:18 left.
The Bengals had one last chance to mount a comeback, but Burrow was sacked by Derrick Harmon and fumbled, sending rookie Sebastian Joseph-Day back to Pittsburgh. As a result, the two teams tied 2-1.
Kansas City Chiefs 24-10 Miami Dolphins
Kansas City maintained its perfect start to the season, even though the Chiefs worked harder against Miami than the final score suggested. Kenneth Walker III had a rushing touchdown and a score through the air, while Patrick Mahomes threw two touchdown passes as the Chiefs moved to 3-0.
Miami struggled to generate much momentum after De’Von Akan injured his knee on the opening possession. Mahomes completed 20 of 24 attempts for 246 yards, and his 11-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce finally gave Kansas City enough breathing room.
Jacksonville Jaguars 35-6 New England Patriots
The Jacksonville Jaguars pulled off one of the most dramatic results of Sunday, easily defeating New England on the back of another impressive performance from Trevor Lawrence. The quarterback threw three touchdown passes, finding Josh Cameron, Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington, while Bashur Tuten added a rushing score.
Lawrence caught 19 of 29 passes for 182 yards and one interception, while Meyers had seven catches for 64 yards. The Patriots’ afternoon performance was complicated by another tough performance from Derek Meyer, who was intercepted twice and lost a fumble, bringing his total to seven in the first three games.
Detroit Lions 31-24 New York Jets
Jahmyr Gibbs scored three touchdowns to help Detroit withstand the Jets’ late challenge and improve to 2-1. Gibbs rushed for two scores and a decisive 11-yard touchdown with 2:25 left in the game and had 99 yards on 20 carries and 65 yards on seven catches.
New York still had a chance to respond, and they got to the Detroit 28-yard line with enough time to make things interesting. However, quarterback Smith lost possession after being sacked by safety Chuck Clark, ending the Jets’ hopes of a late comeback.
Buffalo Bills 24-16 Los Angeles Chargers
Buffalo endured a chaotic afternoon in Los Angeles, staying unbeaten 3-0 despite committing five turnovers. Josh Allen scored twice on the ground, including a one-yard touchdown run with 7:35 left to give the Bills the lead, and James Cook added a 3-yard score four minutes later.
Allen threw two interceptions and lost a fumble, while Cook and tight end Dalton Kinkaid also gave up possessions. The Chargers had a chance to stay alive when they got to the Buffalo 45, but the Bills defense forced an incomplete pass from Justin Herbert on fourth down.
Cleveland Browns 21-18 Carolina Panthers
Cleveland came back again at the last moment to defeat Carolina and chase the score to 2-1. Deshaun Watson threw two touchdown passes to Harold Fannin Jr., including the decisive 14-yard field goal with 1:48 left after the Panthers briefly took the lead.
With 4:25 left in the game, John Metchie III caught an 8-yard touchdown pass from Bryce Young to give Carolina an 18-13 lead. Cleveland responded with a 65-yard, eight-play drive as Watson found another gear after struggling in the first three quarters.
Indianapolis Colts 19-17 Houston Texans
Spencer Shrader was the hero for Indianapolis, making four field goals and capping the game with a 53-yarder with 16 seconds left. The Colts snapped a five-game losing streak against AFC South opponents and snapped a nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Daniel Jones completed 24 of 36 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown, but he also had an interception and lost two fumbles. Houston’s Will Anderson Jr. was a constant threat with 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, but the Texans ultimately lost 0-3.
New York Giants 12-7 Tennessee Titans
The Giants relied heavily on their running game to hold off Tennessee in their first game without quarterback Jaxson Dart in a low-scoring victory. The win moved New York to 2-1, but an injury to star pass rusher Brian Burns clouded the outcome.
Burns left the game midway through the fourth quarter with a right knee injury and had to seek help on the field. His status now becomes another major question as the Giants get off to a strong start under head coach John Harbaugh, while Tennessee remains winless at 0-3.
