Mikel Arteta set to seal £51m Fulham move as major January exit

Fulham star Josh King has been linked with a move to Arsenal and is reportedly worth around £51m.

Arsenal are interested in signing Fulham star Josh King as the January transfer window approaches. The Gunners made four signings in the summer and were expected to be in the market for more new additions before the deadline last month.

Mikel Arteta, along with sporting director Andrea Berta, opted to strengthen many areas of his squad in the summer, with Bruno Guimaraes (midfield), Ezri Konsa (defence), Christos Tzolis (attack) and Illan Meslier (goalkeeper) all moving to the Emirates Stadium.

Another new forward has reportedly been shortlisted for Arsenal in the summer. Vinicius Jr. and Julian Alvarez have both been linked with a move to north London.

With the January window still months away, reports have now emerged claiming Arsenal are interested in another player.

According to Swiss outlet 4-4-2.ch, Arsenal have joined the race to sign King from Fulham, but will face competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund.

Arteta reportedly “believes” King has the qualities needed to succeed for Arsenal, although it remains to be seen whether that will lead to an offer for the England Under-21 international.

Fulham reportedly value King at around €60m (£51m) but are not expected to sanction a January exit, with next summer the most likely time the 19-year-old could leave Craven Cottage.

King’s contract with Fulham runs until the summer of 2029 and there is no sign of an extension on the cards in the near future.

Rumors linking Arsenal with a move for King come at a time when Noni Madueke has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

Reports this week claimed that Madueke was attracting interest from clubs in Europe, notably Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

Madueke only signed for Arsenal from Chelsea last summer for £48.5million but is yet to start a Premier League match and has now been linked with a move away from the Gunners, even in January.
