Manchester United face stiff competition from Juventus in race to sign Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde This winter, according to The Athletic.
The Red Devils were touted to bring in a new left-back during the last transfer window. Balde was one of the main options considered, but he ended up staying at Barca.
It turned out that the decision was not worth it for him. Balde is yet to feature in any game for the Catalan giants, with youngsters Xavi Espat and Joao Cancelo ahead of him in the pecking order.
Therefore, Balde can continue to play in the New Year. United are ready for a new approach but could face stiff competition from Juventus in the race for left-back.
Balde may want to guarantee regular starts to make the switch. Manchester United can provide him with such an opportunity because Shaw is 31 years old. His current contract expires at the end of this season.
