Manchester City star Cherki not on Bayern Munich transfer list

Rayan Cherki has been linked with a surprise move to Bayern Munich, but the latest information from Germany suggests there is currently no substance behind the reports.

The 23-year-old Manchester City attacker has made an eye-catching start to the new season under Enzo Maresca and has quickly become an important part of Manchester City’s attacking system.

This form naturally makes him an attractive name in the transfer market, but Bayern do not seem ready to move.

Bayern Munich never put Cherki on transfer list

According to Bayern insiders Christian FalkBayern does not intend to sign Cherki in January, nor as part of its current recruitment strategy.

Falke said he inquired directly with Bayern board member Max Eberl about the situation and was told there were no plans to pursue the France international.

Falk also reported that Cherki was never on Bayern’s shortlist, with the Bundesliga champions looking to other attacking options in the summer.

This makes sense given Bayern’s current squad. According to Bayern Munich, Michael Olise remains at the heart of their plans with a contract until June 2029 official website.

Serge Gnabry also signed a new contract earlier this year, keeping him at the club until 2028.

From Cherki’s point of view, leaving Manchester City at this stage is also difficult to understand.

He has started the season well, scoring two goals and assisting two in the Premier League, including a brace in a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace.

A performance like this suggests he is becoming increasingly important under Maresca rather than struggling for opportunities.

Bayern may end up needing another winger if their roster changes, especially if Olise’s long-term future becomes uncertain. But for now, the club’s stance seems clear: Cherki is not a priority.

This is good news for Manchester City. Cherki has creativity, unpredictability and the ability to play centrally or out wide. The 23-year-old is still developing, and his early-season numbers suggest he has more to come.

Experts say Manchester City are “worried” about the 26-year-old despite his undeniable talent
