According to reports, Man City could sign Real Betis centre-back Nathan in the January transfer window.
File It claims the move for the Brazilian will be at the behest of coach Enzo Maresca, who has “officially asked” the club to sign him.
Nathan is believed to have caught his attention first Maresca While managing Chelsea in the Conference League.
In the final of the competition, two clubs faced each other and Maresca’s team won with a score of 4:1.
Despite the heavy defeat, Nathan’s performance still impressed the Italians. He is predominantly left-footed and uses his physicality to win individual duels; traits that will allow him to get minutes for City.
Betis has determined the asking price of Nata
The 25-year-old still has more than three-and-a-half years left on his contract, so he won’t be leaving the Spanish side on the cheap.
City must match Nathan’s €40m (£34m) price tag, which is not a huge sum in today’s market, even for a centre-half.

Man City is not the player’s first choice
File reports that although Nathan appreciates the interest of the Premier League club, his preference will be to stay in La Liga, and Barcelona are also watching him.
It is reported that the Catalan giants made inquiries about the defender last summer, although they did not formalize their interest by making an offer.
That could change in January, but for now it looks like City will make a move for Nathan. It’s a transfer story to watch closely over the coming weeks and months.
