Barcelona survived a late scare to make it five consecutive wins. La Liga Lamine Yamar scored twice as Levante won 4-2.
Barca, who have scored five goals in each of their last two games and beat Levante’s city rivals Valencia and Feyenoord in their Champions League opener, took just five minutes to start another game.
Teenager Xavi Espat opened the scoring with a shot from the edge of the area, before Yamal extended the lead into an empty net after a fine finish from Rafinha.
Yamal seemed to end the game with a penalty kick three minutes into the second half.
But Levante performed well, with Ivan Romero capitalizing on Espat’s error to reduce the deficit and Roger Brugger’s brilliant individual goal giving them hope of a late comeback.
However, any thoughts of Levante grabbing points were put to rest as Karim Adeyemi responded to Brugger’s goal with a personal effort of his own to take the points.
Barcelona survive Levante scare
After Rafinha pushed the ball into his path, Espat found the bottom left corner to open his Barcelona account and the Brazilian became the goalscorer for the visitors who doubled their advantage.
He controlled the ball brilliantly after Fermin Lopez’s long ball was deflected into the air, before the Barca captain rounded the goalkeeper and dropped deep for Yamal to finish in a simple finish.
Excellent defending from Espat prevented Victor Garcia from hitting the ball into the back post to halve Barca’s lead, which was extended shortly after the second half restarted.

Aissa Mandi was penalized for handling in the area as she headed to challenge Yamal, who fired a powerful shot from 12 yards that found the top left corner.
Rafinha had a chance to make it 4-0 when his shot went just wide, but Andreas Christensen parried away Romero’s line to deny Levante any chance of getting back into the game.
But Romero made no mistake when Espat accidentally passed the ball to Romero, who rounded Joan Garcia and slotted the ball into the goal.
When Brugger scored the second goal in brilliant fashion, hopes were growing that this would be the start of something special for Levante. The skipper beat Mark Bernal on the left wing, sprinted into the penalty area and then showed quick reflexes on the rebound after Garcia repelled his initial shot.
The home fans responded with loud cheers as six minutes of added time were announced, but Barcelona made the most of the opportunity and equalized.
Adeyemi collected the ball on the left wing and made a brilliant run to evade three Levante defenders before calmly scoring his third goal for Barcelona and his second of the week.
