The word ‘process’ has been thrown around so much by the Scotland manager and his players in recent days that it’s probably the team’s new motto.
But there is truth in this.
Pocognoli is trying to implement a radically different system than his predecessor. Not only that, it’s a different way of thinking. All while trying to include new players.
It’s early days for the Belgian, his band and of course Bowie. But the Sassuolo loanee believes things are on the go and this is an opportunity for him.
“It’s a longer international break,” he said. “We spend more time together, so it’s good for him to convey his message and ideas. Also, we play more games, so of course we have to train a little less.
“I think it’s a new start for me with a new coach and different ideas.
“He told me, ‘You don’t have to prove yourself, just go and do what I know you can do,’ and I feel like I just did.”
Bowie, who made his Rovers debut aged 16, added: “I think people, obviously Scotland fans, have the same idea of what I was like when I was at Hibs and that’s all they can remember.
“But I feel that after moving to Serie A, it’s a different league, a different challenge and I’m getting experience at a higher level.
“So, yeah, I’ve definitely shifted into another gear and I feel like I’m showing it.”
