FC Ashantigold head coach Abdul Karim Zito praised the performance of his players despite their defeat to Heart of Lions at the weekend. Obuasi’s team went to face their week five opponents at the Kpando Sports Stadium looking to make it two wins in a row after a narrow win over Debibi United. Unfortunately, in a game where FC Ashantigold had to suffer with 10 men after the half-hour break, the team lost 3-2 at Abdulakpe-S at the end of the contest. Karim Zito appeared in high spirits and claimed to be impressed with his team’s performance despite the result. I think it was a great game. My boys came to play hard but unfortunately the red card let my boys down. At one point, Heart of the Lions struggled even though they were leading. We are good and we will prepare for the match, said Zito. After the defeat, FC Ashantigold will now hope to get back to winning ways in their next match against FC Samartex. On the other hand, Heart of Lions will play defending champions Medeama SC in their next trip.
