Jim Nantz injury: CBS broadcaster hurt hand during Raiders-Bills?

Injuries are a part of life in the NFL.

Including the broadcast booth, apparently.

At the end of the first half of Sunday’s game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Buffalo Bills, analyst JJ Watt and play-by-play legend Jim Nantz tried to perform the “Peanut Punch,” with Watt catching the football and Nantz making the punt.

Apparently it didn’t go well for Nantz:

“That was a lot harder than I thought you were going to go,” Watt said.

“My wrist is broken,” Nantz said after the punch, as Watt asked for some ice for his broadcast partner. The broadcast then went to a commercial break for a two-minute warning.

After the break, Nantz returned with his wrist wrapped in an ice pack as Watt had requested:

As you can see, Nantz twisted his wrist and noted, “[g]There’s going to be a couple of guys who have to play the last couple of quarters.”

Including the broadcasting legend himself.
