Cesar Azpilicueta had an interesting chat with the BBC’s Nizaar Kinsella and gave some thoughts on the current state of his former club.
Azpi is ready to return to Chelsea soon
“I left Chelsea, but Chelsea will always be in my heart. I watch every game and hope that the club will return to where it belongs,” Azpi said.
Things haven’t gone well to start the season under old friend Xabi Alonso, but the former defender is confident they will turn it around.
“There are very strong teams around and football sometimes needs some time. It needs connections, people playing together and understanding each other. I’m sure [manager] Xabi [Alonso]staff and players will do well. I hope they can bring a lot of happiness to the fans.”
“I’ll be back one day. But I won’t be wearing my boots.”
At the moment, we could play with him in the back line. We look forward to welcoming a club legend back to the Bridge when the time comes.
