John Anderson talked about Newcastle United’s game against Crystal Palace.
Matthias Jaissle’s team comes away with all three points.
A light wind affected the first half, seeing little action at both wickets.
But Newcastle United came on within 15 minutes of the restart and put Crystal Palace away.
A very marginal VAR offside call denied Joe Willock’s excellent goal, but strikes from William Osula and Harvey Barnes sealed the win.
Reflecting on what he watched on Sunday afternoon, former United defender John Anderson tells BBC Newcastle: “Great three points…but it wasn’t a classic at all. The first half was very, very forgettable and the two goals at the start of the second half were enough. The first goal absolutely hit Palace. You could see it, their heads were down, they just threw in the towel.”
John Anderson says again: “It was an important win because questions were starting to be asked about the manager. It’s a big win, it’s a confidence booster and it’s an added bonus that we kept a clean sheet. I think Newcastle United weren’t great, we weren’t fluent, but it’s important to say it’s something to work on. You can’t come here and win and then suddenly we’ve done a lot.”
