Steven Gerrard previewed the weekend’s action, including the weekend’s clash between Chelsea and Manchester United.

One of the highlights of the starting line-up for that game was a long-awaited chance for Estevao. Gerrard singled out the Brazilian winger for praise in his analysis.

“He’s exciting. He’s great to watch. Your typical Brazilian, when it comes to talent, it’s about quality, but I like that he’s very straight-talking. I like that he’s hungry to fight,” Gerrard said.

That’s one of the first things that stands out about Estevao – he’s not afraid to shoot, even from tight angles. He scored over 8 tries against Manchester United at the weekend, which is a pretty insane amount for an individual player.

The problem is what will happen once Joao Pedro returns, Gerrard noted:

“[Estevao] desperate to impress the manager. And when Joao Pedro comes back, he will cause problems for Xabi because Pedro Neto is also a great player, but five are not in that four, so it will be interesting.”
