FA backs Sterling tattoo
Raheem Sterling has found himself at the center of a storm after showing off his new tattoo – a gun on his right leg. A British tabloid quoted anti-gun campaigners as saying he should no longer play for England until he got rid of his guns. The tabloid, which has relentlessly tried to attack the Manchester City forward in recent years, is now doing it again. Sterling himself said that this has a deeper meaning and is a reminder to himself never to touch a gun. The 23-year-old lost his father at the age of 2 after he was shot to death in Kingston, Jamaica. The FA supports Sterling’s tattoo.

Stevenage have signed winger Jamal Campbell-Rice on a free transfer from Carlisle United.
Defender Will Evans has left Aldershot Town to join Chesterfield on a free transfer.
Sheffield United defender Chris Hussey has left the Yorkshire outfit to join Cheltenham Town on a free transfer.
Matt Preston has turned down a new contract offer from Swindon Town to sign for Mansfield Town. The 23-year-old defender previously played for Mansfield manager David Flitcroft’s Swindon Town side.
German winger Steven Skrzybski was promoted from Germany’s second-tier Union Berlin to Schalke 04 and is worth more than £3 million.
Former Manchester City youngster John Guidetti has been sold by Celta Vigo to CD Alaves for more than £3.5 million.

A-League side Wellington Phoenix have appointed Mark Rudan as their new head coach. The 42-year-old signed a two-year deal with a team whose A-League license expires in two years.
Not bad, Barcelona has a bid for Malone
Defender Marlon Santos is currently on a two-year loan with Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, but they do not expect him to complete the loan. Nice president Jean-Pierre Revere said: “Barcelona have received an offer of 20 million euros for Malone. Therefore, he will leave OGC Nice.” Reports in England have linked the defender with West Ham United, although the Nice president did not mention which club had made an offer for the 22-year-old.
Dwamena denies Schalke talks
FC Zurich’s Ghana international forward Raphael Dwamena has denied reports that he is in talks with Schalke over a summer transfer. The striker told Happy FM: “My team hasn’t told me anything yet. I’ve also read online but my team hasn’t told me anything about it so I’ll treat it as a rumor but I pray it’s true then I believe it will be God’s will. “I can’t say it’s affected my season but usually as a person it affects you a little bit but like I believe life without challenges is not life.
Competition for places in Germany heats up
With Germany yet to trim its squad to 23 for the World Cup, the battle for spots in their training camp has become fierce. Bayern Munich defender Joshua Kimmich went head-to-head with Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger and the two got into a heated argument. Miroslav Klose had to run over and break it up before the two started trading punches. Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler was also elbowed by Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.
Lazio confirm rejection of Milinkovic-Savic bid
Lazio president Claudio Lotito has issued what amounts to a hands-off warning as star midfielder Serge Milinkovic-Savic has been linked with Manchester clubs Real Madrid and Juventus. Lotito told reporters: “I turned down 110 million euros for Milinkovic-Savic on August 29, so I don’t know how much he is worth now, but I can tell you that 100 million euros is not enough. I get angry when I read people calling Lazio a supermarket. I have never put anyone up for sale. In the past they wouldn’t even knock on the door, the club only asked for permission that they had to take it.
