Four weeks may not be enough time to make lasting judgments in a Premier League season defined by transition, but if early games are anything to go by, City may just be building a new winning identity – even if their squad has been reduced to 10 games.

16. Crystal Palace(–)
The UEFA Conference League champions have yet to find their rhythm and their early struggles do point to deeper issues. To put it more simply, conceding 11 goals in four games is not a good thing!
17. Fulham (+2)
Fulham’s results remain respectable, most recently a 0-0 draw at Anfield, but the Cottagers have yet to showcase any of their outstanding qualities. They could be in for a long season.
18. Aston Villa(-1)
It’s a frustrating situation for the UEFA Europa League champions, who have become the punching bag for the rest of the league in the opening weeks of the season. The only silver lining – and it wasn’t much – was that they managed to score some goals despite not winning.
