Former ManUtd player Dwight Yorke has intensified his interest in the vacant head coach position of the Ghana national team.
The former Trinidad and Tobago striker speaks to Asempa FM.
“This is a job that most coaches would be interested in because of the history of Ghanaian football”
“I have friends like Sammy Kuffour and he speaks highly of Ghana football, so I am very interested in coaching Ghana.” – he said
A key member of Manchester United’s treble-winning team in 1999 and holder of a UEFA Pro Licence, Yorke previously managed Macarthur FC in Australia and the Trinidad and Tobago national team.
A five-man search committee has been formed by the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Sports following the resignation of Carlos Queiroz following a poor start to the 2027 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ghana’s Black Stars finished last in the group with no points after defeats to Ivory Coast and Gambia.
