Chelsea should take this chance to offer rising star Josh Acheampong a long deal to tie him to the club long-term.

One of our main talking points after the win over Everton at the weekend was Josh Acheampong. The defender made a second consecutive Premier League start that saw Welsey Fofana kept out of the team more by Xabi Alonso’s technical decision than any rest or rotation policy.
The young defender was excellent in the game, once again showing what he can do when trusted at the start.
Chelsea have the perfect window to sign the defender to a new deal
He’s good enough that we’re sure he’ll lose the point now, and good enough to get a piece written about him for the BBC by Nizaar Kinsella.
Kinsella points out that Acheampong’s current contract expires in the summer of 2029, which would be a pretty quick end. Chelsea would be wiser to act now and sign him in a mega-deal until the 2030s.
It will be more difficult to convince him to commit when he is out of the first team again. We all know it’s premium, register it and keep playing with it and whatever you pay for it will start to look cheap.
In other news…
There were three very positive things we saw in the Everton game that signaled that Chelsea had turned the corner.
Due to the injury of “Chelsea” goalkeeper Amy Martinez, the order of beating goalkeepers has been changed for some time.
