Chelsea don’t have a European game this week (or this season at all, you see…). But they decided to bring the cameras to the training ground anyway and let some media inside.

As always, there’s only so much you can tell by watching a session from a distance. More will be revealed at Xabi Alonso’s pre-match press conference on Friday. But the simple fact of who was there and who wasn’t is enough to set the tongues wagging.

Two Chelsea stars return; one is missed

There is one worrisome absence and two notable returns in today’s edition. First bad news – Sky Sports’ James Savundra reports that Moises Caicedo has been ruled out of the session. It’s not time to panic yet – there are plenty of reasons why he’s not around. However, given that the group was given Sunday off and Monday was a simple recovery day, this is a bit of a concern.

The good news is that Argentinian duo Amy Martinez and Aaron Anselmino are back. First, he missed several weeks after suffering a broken jaw, while Anselmino’s ongoing injury problems kept him out of the picture.

In other news…

Chelsea are known to want to add another central midfielder and one man on their list is a rising star at Everton.

Like many of us, Jamie Carragher was unsure of the fee paid for Morgan Rogers – but he has made a brilliant start to life at Chelsea.
