Bukayo Saka fears the timetable set for the Arsenal star’s return from a quad injury

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka, who suffered an injury during the Champions League draw, will miss the Premier League match against Everton.

Arsenal reckon Bukayo Saka will be out for six to eight weeks with a quadriceps injury.

Saka suffered the injury in the first 10 minutes of Wednesday’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich. Eberechi Eze entered the Allianz Arena instead of the club’s vice-captain and opened the scoring shortly after.

Mikel Arteta has confirmed Saka will miss Everton’s trip to the Emirates Stadium and urged patience while scans are carried out. However, there are fears that this weekend’s match will only be the start of a long absence for the Arsenal winger.

According to the BBC, club doctors estimate that Saka will be out of action for at least 6 weeks based on early examinations. However, there are fears he could be out for two months or up to eight weeks.

Arteta told Friday’s pre-match press conference: “He had another MRI this afternoon because there was quite a lot of fluid in the area, so it was difficult to understand the extent of the injury.

“We’ll probably know more tomorrow.” Asked if it was serious, the manager replied: “Again, we need a few scans and opinions from specialists.

“Obviously, when a player has to leave the field, he’s having trouble walking without pain; he’s limited in his range of motion; those are not good signs. Let’s be a little patient to make a definitive assessment and then let you know.”

In addition, they asked whether Saka drove an automatic car to the training ground and did not use his injured left leg. In response to whether something could be read or not, the manager said this briefly.

Arteta said: “He wasn’t changing gears, was he? I’m glad he can drive.”

A six-week absence, which comes into effect on Wednesday, will see Saka miss at least eight matches. This leg includes home games against Everton, Hull City and Manchester City in the Premier League, as well as away trips to Liverpool and Newcastle United.

Borussia Dortmund away and Slavia Prague are two Champions League matches this term. Next week’s Carabao Cup fourth round clash with Fleetwood Town is also on that list.

Week eight includes away games against Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur as well as Arsenal, Bournemouth and Real Madrid. He beat Manchester United at home for two months.
