Atletico Ottawa came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Hamilton’s Forge FC in the first leg of their Canadian Premier League semifinal.

Hamilton’s Anthony Aromatario opened the scoring with a header from a corner kick in the 16th minute at TD Place Stadium in Ottawa.

Atletico’s Diego Gutierrez knotted things up for the reigning CPL champions seven minutes after Marko Jevremovic scored from a free-kick in the 35th minute to put Hamilton back in front.

Just before the half, Ballou Tabla fired a shot into the bottom right corner to bring Ottawa back on level terms. It was the striker’s 38th goal for the club, making him Atletico’s all-time top scorer.

That would be the end of the scoring, however, as the sides went scoreless in the second half.

6108 people participated on Sunday.

The series now shifts to Hamilton Stadium for the second leg of the home-and-away semi-final on Saturday 7 November. The start is scheduled for 13:00.
