Arsenal’s next five games against Man City after the Premier League title race

Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the City Ground on Sunday as they kept their hopes of retaining the Premier League title alive.

Arsenal’s near perfect form continued in the Premier League on Sunday evening as Mikel Arteta’s Gunners won 1-0 at Nottingham Forest.

Tricky Trees kept to themselves for most of the match at the City Ground, restricting the visitors to just one goal.

Unfortunately for the hosts, Arsenal were clinical in the effort, with Noni Madueke only to find the back of Matz Sels’ net with a curling effort from just inside the area – a contribution that went wide of Jair Cunha’s thigh.

The win keeps the Gunners in second place, just three points behind league leaders Manchester City, as Enzo Maresca continues to command anything but perfection in the north-west.

City are unbeaten on home soil this season and continued their fantastic run of form with a 3-2 win at home to Ipswich Town on Saturday.

That means Arteta and Arsenal will have to play the waiting game to potentially leapfrog their most serious Premier League rivals, given that they won’t cross paths at the Emirates Stadium until the end of November.

That is, unless another top-flight side can stop City in their tracks in the coming weeks to change the outlook of the division and boost the Gunners’ chances of defending the title they won in May.
