After Max Dowman was sent off against Fleetwood Town in the League Cup, the FA ruled in favor of the Arsenal teenager’s dismissal.
The FA Regulation and Disciplinary Committee rejected Arsenal’s appeal against Max Douma’s red card against Fleetwood Town. The 16-year-old Fleetwood ace picked up his first senior red card after being sent off in response to Harrison Neal.
His actions led to a brawl between both sets of players in the middle of the pitch, resulting in a straight red card for violent conduct. Arsenal and Fleetwood’s tie had to be decided on penalties, with the Gunners losing after Bruno Guimaraes missed a penalty.
After the game, “Arsenal” filed an appeal against the decision to send him off the field. The FA has since rejected their appeal, meaning the decision and his suspension will stand.

In a statement uploaded to social media, the FA wrote: “The independent regulatory commission has rejected claims that Max Douma was both wrongfully dismissed and excessively punished.
The Arsenal player was sent off in the FA Cup match against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday (October 27) and will serve a three-match ban. The written reasons for the decisions of the regulatory commission will be published in due course.”
Arteta was seen exchanging words with the teenager as he walked down the tunnel as Dowman left the pitch. A lip reader has since claimed that Arteta said: “Get in the dressing room, Max” immediately after leaving the pitch.
