Now that Shedeur Sanders has telegraphed his intention to be traded by the Cleveland Browns, it’s time to start looking around the NFL for a possible landing spot. Finding a willing partner can be difficult at this point in the season, but there could be some interesting options in the remaining weeks before the deadline.
Sanders hired an agent this week after not having one during his short NFL career. It’s believed to be an effort to explore trade possibilities, as quarterback Deshaun Watson may realize he has no way to play time waiting behind him.
Analyst Aaron Goldhammer called it a surprising trade spot for Sanders and said the Denver Broncos might want an upgrade on Bo Nix.
“Nobody got closer to the Shedeur Sanders college experience than Broncos ownership. Sean Payton was there. I don’t know what happened with Bo Nix, but it’s a mess,” Goldhammer said.

Sanders signed with Adie von Gontard of Young Money APAA Sports. According to Goldhammer, the agent is based in Dallas, but has ties to Colorado, where Sanders spent his last two college seasons.
Despite Thursday’s overtime win against the Seattle Seahawks, the Broncos’ offense did little with Nix at quarterback, the latest in a string of poor performances by the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He completed 17 of 27 pass attempts for 107 yards, resulting in a QBR of 29.0. That was after posting a 27.3 QBR in a Week 5 win against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Jarrett Stidham is Denver’s backup, with Sam Ehlinger as the third QB. With Nix likely injured and in danger of being benched, Sanders could be a better option for Denver, especially if Payton can find a way to get the most out of him. But it should also be noted that the head coach led a significant regression of the Knicks this season.
Otherwise, the market for Sanders could be weak. It’s important to remember that every team in the league passed on him multiple times in the 2025 NFL Draft before Cleveland finally completed his fall in the fifth round.
Sanders hasn’t been given a chance to prove any of those doubters wrong, so it could take an injury to force a team to make a move for him.
